Story Rock Neighborhood Information
The Story Rock Neighborhood is across the street and within easy walking distance to the Petroglyph National Monument. The Story Rock name comes directly from the many story carvings or petroglyphs pecked into the rocks by ancient Indians and settlers. Story Rock offers a lush green private community park with a covered Pavilion with a table for picnics plus a very cool climbing rock for the kids. The park ties into the well used Mariposa trail and the overall Albuquerque bike & walking trail system.

The Story Rock community has approximately 150 homes ranging in size from a single story 1412 sq.ft plan up to a 3000 sq.ft two-story
model. DR Horton built all of the Story Rock homes. Story Rock has a relatively average turnover rate likely due to the excellent location and tight community feel.
Many modern conveniences are just minutes away from Story Rock. With the Coors/I-40 Interchange only moments away, you will find Walmart, Walgreens, Home Depot, Chili’s, Applebees, and more. Story Rock is part of the Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) and includes Volcano Vista High, Lyndon B Johnson (LBJ) Middle School, and Chaparral Elementary. The ABQ Transit system makes regular stops on Coors Blvd and Unser, making public transportation accessible for Story Rock residents.
