It may also have to do with construction costs. More excavation, framing work, and concrete would undoubtedly add to this. New production type builders must remain competitive in the market. Since Albuquerque homes with a basement don’t seem to be in high demand, they simply don’t offer the option. A custom builder however would gladly entertain the idea.
